Albany voters will select three trustees for the Albany Public Library Board in the May 21, 2024, election.
Two positions carry full five-year terms, which commence on July 1, 2024. The two full terms will go to the two highest vote-getters. There is also a one-year term available, which commences after the election and ends in May 2025. The one-year term will go to the third highest vote-getter.
Albany residents interested in running for a seat on the board need to complete and submit nominating petitions. The petitions, and instructions, are posted on the library’s website and paper copies are available at all seven APL branches.
Trustee nominating petitions are due to the Clerk of the City School District of Albany by 5 pm on Wednesday, May 1. The library’s trustee election and budget vote are held in conjunction with the city school district. The library trustee candidates will be announced after the school district validates submitted nominating petitions.
