Take Your Child to the Library Day is Feb. 2
We’re celebrating “Take Your Child to the Library Day” on Saturday, Feb. 2, with special activities.
“Take Your Child to the Library Day” is the perfect opportunity to visit our neighborhood branches, learn what we have to offer, and get a library card.
All programs take place on Saturday, Feb. 2, and are free and open to the public.
Clifford’s Birthday Party | 10:30-11:30 am|North Albany Branch
It’s Clifford the Big Red Dog’s birthday and the library is celebrating with WMHT PBS Kids. Kids can watch the show and make Clifford crafts. Space is limited, so please register online. This event is for ages 0-7.
Ice Cream for Breakfast Day | 11:00 am-12:00 pm|Bach Branch
Start the day off with an ice cream sundae for breakfast. Singer/storyteller Bob Willower will lead everyone in a singalong. This is a drop-in event for all ages.
Button Making | 12:00-5:00 pm|Arbor Hill/West Hill Brach
Make a button featuring favorite characters from literature. This is a drop-in program for ages 5-10.
Games and Giveaways | 12:00-5:00 pm|Howe Branch
Kids can play games and enjoy giveaways at the library. Attendees can also sign up for the Growing Readers early literacy program for little ones. This drop-in event is for ages 0-9.
Photobooth | 12:00-5:00 pm | Pine Hills Branch
Gather friends together and take fun photos in the library’s photobooth. For all ages.
Balloon Animals

Balloon Gal Jenny will be twisting balloon animals and other fun creations for kids. This drop-in program is for ages 0-12.
Albany Made Creative Lab | 1:00-4:00 pm | Washington Ave. Branch
Visit the Albany Made Creative Lab to learn more about this makerspace and its tools and equipment. Make something using the 3D printer, sewing machines, graphics software, hand tools, and more. For all ages.
Burrow in on Groundhog Day | 2:00-3:30 pm|Bach Branch
It’s Groundhog Day, so learn about what it’s like to be a furry creature that loves to dig holes by crawling around in the library’s groundhog burrow. Space is limited, so registration is required by calling (518) 482-2154. The program is for ages 1-5.
