Four Open Seats on APL Board in May 17 Election
Albany voters will select four trustees for the Albany Public Library Board in the May 17 election. Three seats carry full five-year terms, while one seat carries a partial term of four years.
Albany residents interested in running for a seat on the board need to complete and submit nominating petitions. The petitions, and instructions, are now posted online and paper copies will be available at all branches this week.
Nominations are due to the Clerk of the City School District of Albany by Wednesday, April 27, at 5 pm. The library’s trustee election and budget vote are held in conjunction with the City School District of Albany. Candidate names will be announced after the school district validates submitted petitions.

Information Session for People Interested in Running for Trustee
April 5 (Tuesday) at 6:00 pm | Virtual Session
Current trustees will participate in a discussion about the work of the board, the nomination and campaign process, and their experiences as candidates and board members. Those interested in attending need to register online and will be emailed a link to the Zoom meeting.
Candidate and Budget Forum
May 3 (Tue) at 6 pm | Washington Ave. Branch
The public will meet the Albany residents running for library trustee and learn more about the 2022-23 budget. The forum will also be livestreamed on YouTube and archived there for later viewing.
