Pay Library Fines & Fees
- Most materials (books, DVDs, CDs) can be returned fine-free, even if they are overdue.
- Fees are charged for lost or damaged items.
- Museum passes, WiFi hotspots, laptops, Playaways, and other special items accrue late fees. If you’re unsure, just ask!
Here are more details about the fine free policy.
Please note: other Upper Hudson Library System libraries may have different fee rates and policies for circulating items in their collection.
How to pay fees
Visit any branch to pay library fees. You may pay with cash, check, money order, Visa card, or MasterCard, and you will receive a receipt for your payment. If you find a lost item and return it within 60 days and you have your receipt, you may receive a refund, less the $5.00 maximum overdue fine (where applicable). If the item is from a non-APL library, please speak with a staff member regarding payment procedure. Replacement copies of items are not acceptable.
