Text Alerts
You can now receive text alerts from the library!
The SMS Alerts service gives you the option to receive text alerts from the Upper Hudson Library System (UHLS)* on your mobile device! After you opt in, UHLS will send you text messages to bring important information to your attention, such as an overdue item or a hold ready for pickup. Contact Albany Public Library for specific information about when you’ll receive alerts. You can choose to opt out of this service at any time.
To sign up:
- Login to your Upper Hudson Library System (UHLS) account
- Click the “Edit Account” button on the upper left hand side of the page
- Enter your mobile number and click “Opt-In.” By opting in, you verify that you have read the terms and conditions for receiving text alerts from the library.
It’s as simple as that!
UHLS will send alerts whenever you have new items that have become available for you to pick up. Message frequency is based on library usage. Although we do not charge for this service, message and data rates may apply.
To opt out from UHLS alerts, send a text message with the word STOP, STOP ALL, END, QUIT, CANCEL or UNSUBSCRIBE to 82453 or 35143 from your mobile phone and you will be unsubscribed from this service. You will not receive any additional text messages via your mobile phone.
You may also opt out by logging back into your account and updating your preferences.
*The Upper Hudson Library System (UHLS) is a cooperative association of twenty-nine autonomous public libraries working together to improve library service for the residents of Albany and Rensselaer Counties. Albany Public Library’s 7 neighborhood branches are part of UHLS.
