June 1, 2017 | Adult Services

“Illustrated” opens on Friday, June 2, with a special reception from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Pine Hills Branch. The reception is free and open to the public, and includes light refreshments and live music.

The library’s newest art show is a survey of the illustration medium as a whole and features more than 80 pieces from over a dozen artists.

The work of three local illustrators is featured in the show:

  • Meg Sodano of Albany
  • Cara Hanley of Albany
  • Marie Beebe of Chatham

Several other artists are children’s book illustrators, including:

  • Ruth Chan, who illustrated Georgie’s Best Bad Day and Mervin the Sloth
  • Deb Lucke, who illustrated The Lunch Witch and The Book of Timeouts

Support for the exhibition was provided by the Albany Public Library Foundation.

The exhibition can be viewed during regular library hours at the Pine Hills Branch and continues through Oct. 28.
