Friends of APL
We have a great group of Friends, a separate non-profit organization whose members are dedicated to supporting the library. The group hosts a variety of programs that are free and open to the public. The Friends also raise money to help support library programs, like the Summer Reading Program for children and teens. You can learn more about the Friends’ activities by reading the group’s blog.

Attend Friends Programs
You can still enjoy the Friends programs, even if you aren’t a member. The group hosts weekly book talks every Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. at the Washington Ave. Branch. The Friends also put on a monthly poetry slam, on the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Arbor Hill/West Hill Branch. They also occasionally host movie screenings and musical performances, which are listed on our calendar. The Friends welcome you to attend their programs.
The Friends have organizational meetings several times a year, to which the public is always invited. Please check the online calendar for the next meeting date.
